Match Report:
After last week's display we awaited a better result from today's match. Though the performance was quite good, the result could have been better. Lady luck wasn't on our side and our forwards could not break Munxar's stubborn defence lead by veteran Chris Debrincat. Munxar obtained what they wanted from this match. The Falcons played for a draw to mark their return to the Division II.

Just after kick off, Umoru entered the area and lobbed the keeper but to Curmi's relief the ball hit the foot of the upright post. Unfortunately none of our forwards could convert the rebound. Few minutes later a Stephen Orlando's shoot ended inches wide. The Falcons started to share more play and in the 10th minute a shot by Joseph Mizzi was well saved by goalie Kenny Grima. On the 25th minute he collected with ease a free kick by Chris Debrincat. On the stroke of halftime Umoru entered the area but concluded into the side netting.

After restart, our lads tried to win the game. On the 51st minute Francesco Cini’s shot was blocked by the defence and from the rebound Umoru’s attempt was deflected on the crossbar by goalie Daniel Curmi. Munxar replied with a direct corner kick by Josmar Farrugia which was punched over with difficulty by goalie Grima. In the 56th minute Munxar’s goalie saved well a shot by Orlando Atzori. Until the end play took place mainly in the midfield and the two goalkeepers were not called to make difficult saves.
